Beyblade video games have been around since 1999. The first video game based on the Beyblade anime and manga craze released was Jisedai Bēgoma Battle Beyblade for the Game Boy Color platform in July 23, 1999. While not as well received as the Beyblade battling top toys, the video game also had its share of followers. In fact, other Beyblade video games were released through the years on a variety of gaming platforms such as Game Boy Color, Playstation, Game Boy Advance, GameCube, Nintendo DS and Wii. The most recent Beyblade video games includes Beyblade: Metal Masters which was released on November 15, 2011 for the Nintendo DS.
With the popularity of Android-powered mobile phones, tablets and other devices, a downloadable Beyblade games for Android devices also emerged. It is touted as the first BeyBlade game on Android but was on its Beta stage hence the bugs and glitches that still need fixing.
This video game is pretty much the same as the real-life Beyblade Battles were one competes with other Bladers using the Bey of their choice. Gamers can customize their Beys by selecting different components to build a unique and powerful Beyblade.
After launching, Beyblades can be controlled by tilting the device. Alternatively, touch controls can be simply swiped to control your Bey to the direction you want, just like a joystick. Because of real time physics, each match is unique. Amazingly, the Beyblades spin and behave realistically especially when they are hit by the opponent.
Beyblade Video Games can be played with other opponents in Tournament Mode or try to beat your high score in the arcade mode where a player needs to beat endless BeyBlades to get a high score.
